This data set, published by the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC), provides total cases of West Nile virus transmission in Europe during the current transmission season. Covers both human cases and animal infections (equids and birds) across EU/EEA member states and neighboring countries. Data are sourced from national public health authorities reporting through the European Surveillance System (TESSy) and are presented with geographic and temporal breakdowns. Updated monthly from approximately June through November each year, with the 2025 season currently active. The webpage also contains more detailed information on demographics, total deaths, severity (hospitalization), symptoms.
