An archive of annual West Nile virus (WNV) surveillance summaries for the EU/EEA and neighboring countries, compiled by the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC). Each transmission season (roughly June–November) is summarized with locally acquired and travel-associated human case counts, deaths, and geographic distribution at the country and sub-national level. Data also cover animal infections including outbreaks in equids and birds. Reported through the European Surveillance System (TESSy) by national public health authorities under the EU case definition.
