The NIH/NIAID-funded bioinformatics platform integrates genomic, proteomic data for bacterial and viral pathogens of public health importance. BV-BRC consolidates data into a single platform covering hundreds of bacterial genera and viral families. The resource provides access to genome sequences, annotations, protein structures, epitopes, specialty genes, serology data. It includes an extensive suite of analysis tools spanning genome assembly and annotation, phylogenomics, whole-genome SNP analysis, metagenomics, transcriptomics, MLST, BLAST, and RNA-seq. Viral-specific tools support influenza reassortment analysis, SARS-CoV-2 wastewater surveillance, and subspecies classification. The platform also maintains active outbreak trackers for SARS-CoV-2, influenza H5N1, mpox, and measles, and is accessible via a web interface, command-line interface, and data API.
