The MI Start Map Active Metrics Dashboard is a data visualization tool developed to monitor COVID-19 trends across Michigan at both regional and county levels. It replaced the earlier MI Safe Start risk level framework in May 2023. These indicators include new confirmed and probable COVID-19 cases, COVID-related deaths, hospital admissions and capacity, and emergency department visits for COVID-like illness. Users can explore trends by county, region, age group, race, and ethnicity, and toggle various filters such as the inclusion or exclusion of correctional facility data. The data was sourced from the Michigan Disease Surveillance System (MDSS) and updated regularly until April 15, 2024.
