The California Communicable Diseases Assessment Tool (CalCAT), developed by the California Department of Public Health, provides real-time surveillance and short-term forecasts for hospitalizations related to respiratory illnesses, including COVID-19 and influenza. The dashboard displays current hospital census data, reflecting how many patients are hospitalized with respiratory illness, as well as 1- to 4-week projections for hospital admissions and occupancy. These forecasts are generated by individual modeling teams and a combined ensemble model, and are available at both the statewide and regional levels.
