The Global Health Observatory (GHO) is the World Health Organization’s portal for health-related statistics, offering access to a wide range of data collected from various WHO members. It provides indicators covering key health topics such as mortality, disease burden, nutrition, maternal and child health, infectious diseases like HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria, etc., non-communicable diseases, neglected tropical diseases, sexual transmitted infections, environmental health, air pollution, foodborne diseases estimates, etc. The platform features interactive dashboards, such as the COVID-19 Situation Dashboard and the Triple Billion Dashboard, which allow users to visualize global health progress. The GHO also includes thematic portals on areas like women’s and children’s health and global health research and development.
An API is also available to retrieve information and data.

A chronic, recurrent infection caused by the bacterium Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Tuberculosis (TB) may affect almost any tissue or organ of the body with the lungs being the most common site of infection. The clinical stages of TB are primary or initial infection, latent or dormant infection, and recrudescent or adult-type TB. Ninety to 95% of primary TB infections may go unrecognized. Histopathologically, tissue lesions consist of granulomas which usually undergo central caseation necrosis. Local symptoms of TB vary according to the part affected; acute symptoms include hectic fever, sweats, and emaciation; serious complications include granulomatous erosion of pulmonary bronchi associated with hemoptysis.
