The Surveillance Atlas of Infectious Diseases is a dashboard allowing the user to interact with the latest available data about multiple infectious diseases in Europe. The interface allows users to interact and manipulate the data to produce a variety of tables and maps, the data is also downloadable in a CSV format.​​ The information contained in the dataset comes from the Member States collected through The European Surveillance System (TESSy). For multiple diseases, details information is available: confirmed cases, data quality, travel or locally acquired cases, vaccination coverage (measles, rubella), demographics, acute or chronic cases, etc.

Tuberculosis (TB) may affect almost any tissue or organ of the body with the lungs being the most common site of infection. A species of FLAVIVIRUS, one of the Japanese encephalitis virus group (ENCEPHALITIS VIRUSES, JAPANESE). It can infect birds and mammals. In humans, it is seen most frequently in Africa, Asia, and Europe presenting as a silent infection or undifferentiated fever (WEST NILE FEVER). The virus appeared in North America for the first time in 1999. It is transmitted mainly by CULEX spp mosquitoes which feed primarily on birds, but it can also be carried by the Asian Tiger mosquito, AEDES albopictus, which feeds mainly on mammals.

It is characterized by the reduction of the Helper T-lymphocytes in the peripheral blood and the lymph nodes. Symptoms include generalized lymphadenopathy, fever, weight loss, and chronic diarrhea. Patients with AIDS are especially susceptible to opportunistic infections (usually pneumocystis carinii pneumonia, cytomegalovirus (CMV) infections, tuberculosis, candida infections, and cryptococcosis), and the development of malignant neoplasms (usually non-Hodgkin lymphoma and Kaposi sarcoma). The human immunodeficiency virus is transmitted through sexual contact, sharing of contaminated needles, or transfusion of contaminated blood.
